Message from Louis Libin, RF Coordinator for the 2020 National Political Conventions

In order to prevent interference to broadcasters, critical public safety systems and all other wireless users, all transmitting devices including wireless mics, two-way radios and video transmitters must be registered, approved, tested and stickered before use at the 2020 National Political Conventions. The Communications Committee is most concerned with controlling the broadcast-related spectrum use in the vicinity of the live broadcasts within and near the convention halls. There are no restrictions on cell phones.

Regarding wireless mics, we strongly recommend having a cable to go hardline as a guaranteed back up.

Enforcement crews will be roving the venue for unauthorized usage.

Please note that failure to follow these rules will interfere with the news coverage and actual operations of the 2020 National Political Conventions.
