House Radio TV Gallery Logo Blue

The House Radio-TV Correspondents’ Gallery is now accepting applications for Credentials, Work Space, Media Row, Radio News Broadcast Seats, TV Broadcast Suites and Stand-Up Positions for the 2024 Republican and Democratic National Conventions. Even if you have not yet finalized your conventions-related coverage plans, please apply now as it will be possible to make changes later in the process.

Only bona fide news gathering organizations who report and distribute news using audio and/or video transmission may apply to the Gallery for credentials. If you do not meet our criteria, please contact the RNC or DNC offices directly.

How to Fill Out the Application

An initial application must be completed by one designated person from each organization. Organizations—not individuals—are approved for credentials at this stage in the process.

In order to fill out the application, you must first create a user profile by clicking here. After your profile has been created, you may begin the application by clicking on the “Application” link in the top right corner of the screen. Once you have completed and submitted the form, your user profile will allow you to view the information you have submitted but will not allow you to update it, effectively serving as a receipt for your records.

Any updates you wish to make must be done directly with our staff member assigned to your organization. If you are approved for accreditation, you also will use this same user profile later in the process to submit your personnel list of those attending the convention(s). After your application has been submitted, you will receive an email confirming we have received your request. If you have not received that email within a week of submitting the application, feel free to call us at (202) 225-5214 or email at
rtvconventions2024@mail.house.gov. We will be processing over 5,000 credential requests from hundreds of organizations, so please be patient. Notification regarding approval or denial of your request will come at a later date.

Deadlines

Each application must include an organization’s entire request based on the relevant deadlines below. For example, if you are requesting a broadcast suite, you must submit your application by the February 2nd deadline and include all additional requests (where applicable) including work space, broadcast seats, Media Row positions and credentials.

February 2, 2024 is the deadline for organizations requesting broadcast suites and/or stand-up positions, along with any other combination of work space, broadcast seats, Media Row positions and credentials.
Requests for specific locations within the respective facilities will come later in the process.

February 9, 2024 is the deadline for organizations requesting any combination of work space, broadcast seats, Media Row positions and credentials.

April 12, 2024 is the deadline for organizations who simply require the basic credential that all personnel will need to cover either of the two conventions.
If you plan to file your reports from unassigned space in the Press Filing Center or from a location other than the convention complex, you are not required to fill out the application prior to this date.

Our Timeline

If you have applied for broadcast booths and/or stand-up positions, you will first hear from us concerning your specific request no later than late February. Those who have only applied for radio broadcast seats, Media Row positions and/or work space in the convention centers will first hear from us no later than mid-March. Credentials only requests will be handled on a rolling basis depending on when you have applied.

If your organization is approved for credentials, you will receive a confirmation of accreditation approximately one month before the first convention stating the number of credentials you may pick up and the time and location for distribution. If you are applying to cover both conventions, you will receive two separate confirmations — one for each convention. It is your responsibility to bring the proper confirmation and any required identification or documentation to the appropriate venue.

Terms of Accreditation

Approved organizations should not expect all of their convention personnel to have simultaneous access to the respective convention halls. Instead, you will receive a mix of credentials with varying degrees of access to allow all of your personnel simultaneous access to the perimeter but not into your assigned positions. All credentials are transferrable so personnel can be rotated into your assigned positions as needed.

Organizations are responsible for all credentials issued to them and for the actions taken by anyone holding their credentials. Lost credentials will not be replaced. In the event of unprofessional or inappropriate behavior, access to the convention complex may be subject to review.
